In 1970s, this song was quite famous in Terathum, a hill District of eastern Nepal. There was a huge influence of patriot view from communist movement which tried to stop many of youth, who want to go Gurkha soldiers as traditionally, not to go for fighting another’s land.
I had also heard that song, says Gajendra Isbo,an ex-Gurkha army from Khamlalung VDC. “But that type of song could not stop me to join the British army because of poor economic status of my family.”
